NYPD police shoot homeless man's dog
The footage shows the animal, apparently called Star, snapping at a bystander before running at a police officer. As the pit bull nears the officer he shoots it with his pistol, and another policeman appears to fire mace, and the animal slides along the street. It then lies writhing in the road.Witness said that the dog's owner, believed to be a homeless man, had suffered a seizure and was lying on the pavement. The animal was standing guard over him, growling at anyone who got too close. Despite being shot, the dog reportedly survived and is being treated at an animal welfare centre. It's owner, named as Lech Stankiewicz, was described as a drifter who was well known in the area and had problems with drink and drugs. He was wanted by police and was arrested after being taken to hospital.

And i suppose your going to say your a cop? Fuck you prick, that was completely against procedure. He could have easily shot an innocent person. Instead he killed a dog that was trying to protect its owner from a cop who should have called animal control to detain the animal first. So you my friend can fuck off and die!

pepperspray would have stopped the dog in the same time, but the dog would be still alive. but it that hurry he got no other opertunity in my oppinion

How about call animal control? they could have restrained the dog. and what if the cop shot a innocent person. This was totally avoidable. Thank God you aren't ever in a situation like that, and if you are I hope I'm not around

im guessing you've had a lot of success restraining dogs while they were charging you then huh? a lot of variables came into play but he did what he could in the amount of time he had to make a decision. its a fucking dog that tried to attack. i'd like to see you sit there and call animal control like you claim this officer should do. a person is a different story fuckwit
